You can also use old linens in Shabby Chic Decorating such as: tablecloths, quilts, lace, hankies, and bedspreads. You might find these at garage sales, thrift shops and flea markets. Begin to scout out these vintage treasures.
Chenille bedspreads can be used, as shown here in this Shabby Chic bedroom. If you like to sew, the possibilities are endless. You can take old things and create new items out of them.
You can use lace in a variety of ways. Buy old doilies and table cloths and use them over tables. Or cover a pillow with a piece of old lace.
Use old quilts to make pillows, or to throw over a chair or couch.. These will add a homey touch. Notice here in the bedroom above where they used an old window and backed it with a piece of quilt. That's a great idea!
These new Shabby Chic items are wonderful, especially if you don't have time to hunt for a lot of vintage items. It's always nice to start with new, fresh bedding.
