Step #1. When choosing color schemes start by becoming aware of all that is around you. Become a student of your surroundings. Take notice of patterns and color shades.

Step #2. Ask yourself the following...

1. When buying clothes and home decor what colors do I repeatedly purchase?

2. When looking in decorating magazines and books what colors am I drawn to?

3. When I go in other people's homes what color schemes and patterns do I like?

4. When I go out into restaurants, stores, and businesses, what color palettes do they use?

5. How do certain colors make me feel?

After you ask yourself these questions, you will notice a pattern to what you choose. You will see your personal color palette begin to take shape. You will soon have no trouble choosing interior decorating color for your home.

Primary Colors are: Red, Blue and Yellow These colors are mixed together to create all other colors.

Secondary Colors are: Orange, Green, and Violet. These are made when equal parts of two primary colors are mixed together.

Tertiary Colors are: A primary color mixed with the secondary color next to it on the color wheel. When each of these shades are blended together the color becomes less intense.

Neutral Colors are: Whites,and Beiges and Browns, and Black.
