Featuring The Cottage Home Showcase!

Would you like to see into the personal lives of cottage house across the country and abroad?

You know how we home decorators are- always looking for fresh ideas to give our homes that special touch. I decided it's time to include all of you, my viewers, to join in the fun!

Calling on all you cottage decorators out there. Yes that means you! If you have a cottage style house, whether big or small, or even a rental, that you have decorated with any kind of cottage style, and would like to share it with the rest of the world, then here is your chance! The Cottage Home Showcase will now be added as a regular feature to my website, and I am currently taking submissions.

If you would like to be considered as a featured "house guest" here at Cottage Home Decorating, then step right up and don't be shy. I will take your submissions on a first-come first-serve basis. This is going to be a lot of fun, and is a much anticipated addition to this site. As many of you have contacted me telling me of your cottage houses, it's time to show them off!

Fill out the form below. Be sure to include all your contact information neccessary for me to communicate with you, place in the blank box "Cottage Home Showcase", this way I will know why you are contacting me.

After I receive your contact information I will email you and have you send me anywhere for 10-12 photos of your cottage home, including rooms and creative and interesting room settings. These might include, pictures of display shelves and cabinets along with full room views. *Please read below for photography tips.*

IF your Cottage Style home is accepted for the "Cottage Home Showcase" feature, then here is what will happen...

Your cottage home will be a featured page on my website, viewed by thousands of people every day!

I will include anywhere from 5-10 home decorating photos of your home.

I will also feature a biography of you, along with a personal photo.

If you have a website or blog (that is related to cottage style decorating), I will also include a link to this within your page.

Here Are Some Photo Tips To Help You

Take at least about 20 photos, so you can choose the best, featuring different rooms and settings in your home.

Take your home decorating photos in the best possible lighting. Experiment and see what is the best lighting to show off your cottage home. Whether it be natural and/or with other lighting.

Keep in mind that lamps and candles add a great ambience and warm glow to your photos.

Try to take close ups of vignettes and displays in your home, as well as ones taken of an entire room. If the photo is too far away it won't show the details (Remember I will have to downsize the photos to fit within the guidelines of my website.)

Be sure to clean out clutter, and try to "stage" your house. You would be surprised what shows up on camera! Just look at it as if someone is coming to take pictures of your house for a photo shoot for a magazine. Make it clean and showcase worthy.

Remember that your photos will become property of cottagehomedecorating.com and that they need to be your own original photos.

Reasons For Refusal Of Your Submission

1.) Poor Quality Photos

2.) Copied photos that are not original to you, the homeowner. There are copyright laws that I have to follow as a webmaster.

Please make sure you are sending me photos that are not property of another website or that you have copied.

If you have had your photos used on another website, then please ask permission first before submitting them again to make sure you are not breaking the law.

In the event that I become aware that your pictures have been copied or stolen from another source, they would be removed immediately ,with no questions asked.

3.) If your home does not fit within "Cottage Style". Since this website features many diverse looks to "Cottage Style", in most cases this shouldn't be a problem.

4.) It will be up to this website's owner to judge if your home fits within Cottage Style. If you are in doubt, look at all the style pages featured on this site, to get an idea if your home fits within the parameters. 5.) Cottage Home Decorating reserves the right to accept or decline a submission, and to add or remove a featured cottage at it's own disrection, if they feel that the submission doesn't fit within the guidelines of it's privacy policy or copyright laws.
