    Where can you use a brown color scheme?
  • Brown can be used in any room in the house. Of course you will want to make sure you vary the shades within this color scheme to keep it interesting.

  • Dark Chocolate Brown should be used where there is sufficient light in a room. If light is a problem than use the darkest shades in your furniture and color accents, not for the paint on your walls.
  • Brown is really a warm and cozy choice to put through out the house. You can use it in sisal rugs and bamboo shades. Just about anywhere!

Decorating With Brown



Blue with Brown is a very popular color scheme, since it is the perfect compliment of cool and warm colors together. This is a vintage rug, done in this beautiful combination.



Here we see a lighter version of brown and blue in this bedroom. Notice the use of soft tan color with white, making the whole look very fresh.



Here is yet another bedroom done in a brown and blue combination. Notice both these bedrooms have the use of stripes on the wall. A cheap and easy wall treatment!



Brick is another timeless use of the color brown. Look how this large fireplace area gives such a warm and cozy feel to this family room.



Here is the use of earth tones of rust and golden yellow, all working to stay within a brown color scheme. This chair really adds a great element to this corner.

A log home is a wonderful use of a brown color scheme. Notice how this room still has a light feel with the addition of soft tan color on the walls and a healthy amount of natural light. this whole dining room has down home comfort!



Another great color combination is brown with red. As shown here in these bed pillows.


Brown with orange is a great combination also. Here we see a soft shade of orange used to make a classy decorating touch.
